Product Description
Radke Services Late-Style Accelerator Pump Diaphragms - Pair
A pair of alcohol-resistant replacement accelerator pump diaphragms for compatible Weber 40, 44 and 48 IDF carburetors and EMPI HPMX 40/44 applications using the late-style pump system.
Late vs. Early: Check Before Ordering
The late style uses a flat / solid-center diaphragm and the later threaded-rod-and-nut accelerator-pump mechanism. The early version has a spring-loaded center / plunger and cam-and-roller mechanism. Compare your existing carburetor parts before ordering; carburetors are often swapped or modified, so vehicle year alone is not a reliable identifier.
When Should the Diaphragm Be Replaced?
The accelerator pump adds fuel as the throttle opens. A diaphragm that has become stiff, cracked, damaged or leaky can contribute to fuel seepage and poor accelerator-pump operation, including hesitation, stumble or a flat spot during acceleration. Similar symptoms can have other causes, so inspect the pump circuit, jets, fuel pressure and carburetor adjustment as part of diagnosis.
