CSC Motorcycles Clutch Cable Adjustment Guide

This is a general-purpose adjustment video applicable to all CSC Motorcycles with a clutch. Many of our models have clutch cable replacement and adjustment instructions specific to them in their Owner's Manual or on this website.

Summary of Steps

1. Warm Up the Engine :

   • Ensure the engine is at operating temperature (after a short ride). This allows the clutch cable to expand to its loosest state, ensuring accurate adjustment.

2. Access the Adjuster :

   • Pull back the protective cover near the clutch lever to expose the adjustment mechanism (lock nut and adjuster).

3. Adjust the Clutch Cable :

   • Loosen the lock nut to free the adjuster.

   • Turn the adjuster counterclockwise to increase tension (moves friction zone farther from the handlebar) or clockwise to reduce tension.

   • Aim for 1/8 to 1/4 inch of free play at the lever. Avoid excessive tightness (causes premature wear) or looseness (prevents full disengagement).

4. Secure and Test :

   • Tighten the lock nut to fix the adjuster in place. Re-cover the mechanism.

   • Test the clutch lever’s feel and friction zone. Fine-tune if needed.

5. Major Adjustments (if required) :

   • For larger adjustments or cable replacement, use a 13mm wrench at the clutch case near the engine.
