How to Install a Rear Rack and Luggage Box on the CSC ES5 Electric Scooter

As CSC’s ES5 scooters gain popularity across the U.S., riders have been asking for more storage options. In response, CSC’s R&D team developed a rear rack that allows users to strap items directly onto it or attach a top box for additional cargo space. While CSC offers installation at the time of purchase, this video walks through the simple process of installing the rear rack at home.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Remove the Seat & Storage Compartment

   • This step is covered in a previous video, but they quickly demonstrate the process.

2. Remove the Passenger Grab Rail

   • Using a 12mm wrench, the grab rail is taken off to make room for the new rear rack.

3. Assemble the Rear Rack

   • Ray recommends laying out all the included fasteners and loosely assembling the rack off the scooter before securing it in place.

4. Mount the Rear Rack

   • The rack has three main mounting points, secured using bolts, washers, and adjustable spacers. Leaving bolts slightly loose initially makes alignment easier before tightening everything down.

5. Secure the Fasteners

   • Once all bolts are in place, they are tightened, and a bit of Loctite is applied to keep them secure.

6. Reinstall the Storage Compartment

   • With the rack installed, the storage compartment is reattached.

7. Attach the Top Box

   • The video showcases an EMGO top box , which features a quick-release mechanism for easy removal. The mounting platform is installed onto the rack with adjustable fasteners for a universal fit.
