Replacement brushes for 12 volt generator. A very common replacement item. These get contamination through the holes in the VW generator and wear down. When these wear down far enough they stop making good contact with the stator and stop making power. Purchase a generator cover to plug the holes and keep these clean. If your charging isn't what it used to me these are probably needing replaced
