Headlight Switch
This 5 Prong switch replaces the 5 prong switch found on the original U.S. spec late Beetle and Super Beetle. The U.S. spec originl equipment headlight switches received power from both the X and the 30 terminal so that the headlights would only work when the ignition was in the ON position.This replacement switch omits the X wire. This switch should get all its power from the 30 terminal. Wrap the unused X wire with electrical tape to avoid shorting against another surface.
